Shampoo bar with sulfates?

Shampoo bar with sulfates?

Sodium Coco Sulfate (SCS) is a surfactant we use in our shampoo bars. It is derived from coconut oil, not palm oil and is considered a milder alternative to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), which are known for their potential harshness.

Here are some benefits of Sodium Coco Sulfate in shampoo bars:

  1. Cleansing Power: Sodium Coco Sulfate has excellent cleansing properties, allowing it to effectively remove dirt, excess oil, and product buildup from the hair and scalp. It creates a rich lather that helps distribute the product evenly and reach all areas for thorough cleansing.

  2. Mildness: Compared to SLS and SLES, Sodium Coco Sulfate is considered milder and less likely to cause scalp irritation or dryness. It is often preferred by individuals with sensitive skin or those who experience scalp sensitivity or dryness with other sulfates.

  3. Biodegradability: Sodium Coco Sulfate is derived from natural sources, primarily coconut oil, and is readily biodegradable. This means it breaks down more easily in the environment, reducing its potential impact on water ecosystems compared to some other surfactants.

  4. Compatibility with Natural Ingredients: Sodium Coco Sulfate is compatible with a wide range of natural ingredients commonly used in shampoo bars. It allows for the formulation of products that incorporate nourishing botanical extracts, essential oils, and other beneficial ingredients without compromising performance.

  5. Foam and Lather: Sodium Coco Sulfate produces a rich, creamy lather that many people enjoy during their hair-washing routine. It helps to distribute the shampoo throughout the hair, making it easier to cleanse the scalp and strands effectively.

  6. Stability and Shelf Life: Sodium Coco Sulfate is a stable ingredient that helps maintain the shelf life of shampoo bars. It helps ensure the product remains in a solid form and retains its cleansing properties over time.

It's worth noting that Sodium Coco Sulfate (SCS) is a mix of all the fatty acids of coconut oil, which means it is gentle on your scalp and will not irritate your skin. It produces excellent lathering, thickening, and conditioning properties and produces that lather we love.
